BJP Leader's Son Among Four Accused in Gang-Rape Case in Madhya Pradesh

BJP Promises Action if Survivor Names Son of Party Functionary
Bhopal: A shocking incident of gang rape and sexual assault has emerged from the Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, where the son of a BJP leader is among the four accused. The survivors, a woman and her minor sister, were subjected to these heinous crimes, leading to outrage among their relatives and locals. Demanding swift action, they surrounded the local police station, resulting in the arrest of two of the accused. Notably, this district is the home turf of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra, who represents the Datia Assembly constituency.

The head of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Datia district unit assured that appropriate action would be taken if the gang-rape survivor identifies the son of a local party functionary as being involved in the crime during her police statement. Disturbingly, one of the victims attempted to end her own life by hanging and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.

All four accused are residents of the Unnao police station area. As the survivors and the accused are students, the police are diligently investigating the matter, stated Datia Superintendent of Police, Pradeep Sharma. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, as well as the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to Pradeep Sharma, the complainant revealed that she and her elder sister were forcibly taken away by four individuals who then brought them to a house, where her sister was subjected to rape. The complaint was lodged by the woman's younger sister. Tragically, upon returning home, the victim attempted suicide, highlighting the immense trauma she endured.

The woman was later admitted to a hospital in Jhansi, located in neighboring Uttar Pradesh, as per Mr. Sharma. The FIR also mentioned that the accused sexually abused the complainant. The police have announced a reward of ₹10,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the accused, who are currently on the run.

Reacting to the incident, the BJP's district president, Surendra Budholia, expressed his deep regret, stating that the police have yet to record the victim's statement. He further mentioned that if the victim names the son of the BJP office-bearer during her statement to the police, the party will serve him a notice. Subsequently, the party will take further action based on the details provided by the victim.

This distressing incident highlights the urgent need for swift justice and stringent measures to combat such crimes. The authorities must ensure a thorough investigation and ensure the safety and well-being of the survivors. Society as a whole must unite to condemn such acts and work towards creating an environment where every individual feels safe and protected.
