Mumbai: In a significant development, NCP National President Sharad Pawar has announced the removal of Shri Sunil Tatkare and Shri Praful Patel's names from the Register of Members of the Nationalist Congress Party. This decision comes as a consequence of their alleged anti-party activities.
The NCP National President, in a letter addressed to the party members, expressed grave concerns regarding the actions of Shri Sunil Tatkare and Shri Praful Patel. He highlighted their violation of the party's constitution, rules, and engagement in anti-party activities by facilitating the swearing-in of nine MLAs as Cabinet Ministers in the Maharashtra government without the permission and knowledge of the Party President.
The secretive nature of these defections, conducted without the Party President's consent, is seen as an act of desertion and goes against the principles and ideals of the NCP. It is clear that their actions prioritize personal ambitions over the party's mandate and the trust of the electorate.
In light of these circumstances, the NCP National President has called for immediate steps to be taken against Shri Sunil Tatkare and Shri Praful Patel, including filing disqualification petitions under the 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution before the Competent Authority.
This decision showcases the NCP's commitment to upholding party discipline, maintaining the integrity of its principles, and ensuring that its members adhere to the party's constitution and values.
The response of Shri Sunil Tatkare and Shri Praful Patel to their removal from the party and the subsequent actions taken by the Competent Authority will be closely watched as the situation unfolds.
