Surat Crime Branch Nabs Mitul Trivedi for Falsely Claiming to be an ISRO Scientist
Gujarat, August 29, 2023: In a startling turn of events, the Surat Crime Branch of Police apprehended Mitul Trivedi on August 29th for impersonating an ISRO scientist and producing counterfeit documents to support his claim. Trivedi, who had been duping the public by posing as a scientist, confessed to the fraudulent activity during police interrogation.
Surat's Additional Commissioner of Police, Sharad Singhal, shed light on the investigation, stating, "The Crime Branch contacted ISRO, and a preliminary response from ISRO confirmed that the letter presented by Trivedi was forged, and no such document had been issued by the space agency. ISRO has assured us of providing a detailed response in the coming days."
Singhal continued, "Following this revelation, the Crime Branch summoned Mitul Trivedi to their Chowk Bazar office for an in-depth interrogation. Today, it has been unequivocally established, and Trivedi has admitted to the forgery. He claimed to have fabricated the document to attract more students to his tuition classes. As a result, an FIR has been registered against him under sections 465, 468, 471, and 419 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), with the investigation being handled by the Special Operations Group (SOG)."

Trivedi, who touted himself as an ISRO scientist, has disclosed possessing B.Com and M.Com degrees. However, these educational claims are yet to be verified by the police. Trivedi faces serious charges under IPC sections 465 (punishment for forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using a forged document as genuine), and 419 (cheating by impersonation).
