🏁 Tragic Loss: Young Prodigy Shreyas Hareesh, 13-year-old Motorcycle Racing Sensation, Mourned After Fatal Crash

Tragic Demise of 13-Year-Old Racing Prodigy Shreyas Hareesh in Heartbreaking Crash
Chennai: The world of motorcycle racing is in mourning as the talented 13-year-old two-wheeler racing sensation, Shreyas Hareesh, hailing from Bengaluru, tragically lost his life in a heart-wrenching accident during the National Motorcycle Racing Championship (NMRC) held in Chennai on Saturday.

The young racing prodigy, Shreyas Hareesh, had captured the hearts of many with his exceptional skills on the race track. His dreams of glory took a tragic turn when he suffered a devastating crash early in the race. Shreyas, who had earned pole position in the Rookie race after an impressive qualifying session earlier in the day, faced the misfortune of an accident soon after the race began.

Exiting the first turn, the unthinkable happened - Shreyas lost control and was involved in a crash that inflicted a grievous head injury. Despite immediate medical attention, the young talent could not overcome the severity of the injury. The Madras Motor Sports Club, organizers of the event, made the heart-wrenching decision to cancel the remaining races slated for both Saturday and Sunday.

The race came to an abrupt halt as the red flag waved, signifying the tragic incident. In a race against time, Shreyas was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital with the assistance of a trauma care ambulance stationed at the track. Tragically, his journey ended there, as he was declared deceased upon arrival. His father, Copparam Hareesh, was by his side during this heartbreaking moment.

Born on July 26, 2010, Shreyas Hareesh was not only a racing talent but also a student at the Kensri School in Bengaluru. His meteoric rise in the racing world was punctuated by several victories at the National level, including an impressive four consecutive wins in the Rookie category of the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship this season.

Regrettably, this incident marks the second fatality at the Madras International Circuit in 2023, following the loss of 59-year-old K.E. Kumar, who passed away after a Saloon Car racing accident in January. The President of the Madras Motor Sports Club, Ajit Thomas, expressed deep sorrow, saying, "It is tragic to have lost a rider so young and talented."

The racing community and fans alike are left with a heavy heart as they remember Shreyas Hareesh, a rising star whose bright future was tragically cut short.
