Payment Details Unveiled:
According to Vishal's disclosure, he was required to make two separate payments. The first transaction of 3 lakhs was sent to M. Rajan, with account number 168100050300500 at Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd, Sion Branch. The second transaction of 3.5 lakhs was made to Jeeja Ramdas, with account number 7712615683 at Kotak Mahendra Bank, Andheri East Branch. These transactions allegedly revolved around the screening and certification of his film.
Urgent Action and Inquiry:
In response to these allegations, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement expressing its deep concern. The government affirmed its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and announced its intent to take strict action against those found responsible.
To expedite the investigation, a senior officer from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was dispatched to Mumbai to conduct an inquiry promptly. The government also called upon the public and industry stakeholders to provide information about any similar instances of harassment by CBFC via the designated email address: jsfilms.inb@nic.in.
