India Dismisses Canadian Allegations, Calls for Action Against Anti-India Elements

MEA Rejects Claims of Government Involvement in Canadian Violence, Highlights Concerns Over Khalistani Extremists
New Delhi: In a strong response to recent allegations made by Canadian officials, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India issued a statement firmly rejecting any involvement of the Indian government in acts of violence within Canada. The statement comes as tensions rise between the two nations over accusations and counter-accusations.

"We have seen and reject the statement of the Canadian Prime Minister in their Parliament, as also the statement by their Foreign Minister. Allegations of the Government of India's involvement in any act of violence in Canada are absurd and motivated," the MEA's statement reads, underlining India's commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law.

The MEA further stated, "Such unsubstantiated allegations seek to shift the focus from Khalistani terrorists and extremists, who have been provided shelter in Canada and continue to threaten India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The inaction of the Canadian Government on this matter has been a long-standing and continuing concern. That Canadian political figures have openly expressed sympathy for such elements remains a matter of deep concern."

The statement also raised concerns about the space provided in Canada for various illegal activities, including murders, human trafficking, and organized crime, without drawing a direct link to the Government of India. India firmly rejects any attempts to connect it to such developments.

Highlighting its stance, the MEA concluded with a call to action: "We urge the Government of Canada to take prompt and effective legal action against all anti-India elements operating from their soil."

Tensions between India and Canada have escalated in recent times, with both countries exchanging accusations related to domestic and international issues. The Indian government's rejection of these allegations reflects its determination to defend its reputation on the global stage and address concerns regarding the activities of Khalistani extremists in Canada.
