Nanded District , Maharashtra -October 5, 2023: In a disconcerting turn of events, a complaint has been officially lodged against Shyam Wakode, the Dean of Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital in Nanded district, Maharashtra. The complaint follows a distressing series of multiple deaths that occurred within a 48-hour timeframe.
This grim situation has also implicated the hospital's superintendent and several medical professionals in connection to these fatalities. Wakode, in particular, faces accusations related to the tragic deaths of an infant and the child's mother. Shockingly, the hospital's records revealed a total of 31 deaths, including infants, within the span of 48 hours, commencing from September 30. Furthermore, six additional deaths were recorded in the following 24 hours.
The grieving relatives of the deceased have raised concerns, alleging negligence and citing shortages of essential medicines as contributing factors to this alarming mortality rate.
