Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar: Assam CM Proposes Renaming in BJP Power Scenario

BJP Power Play: Hyderabad's Name Change Within 30 Minutes, Asserts Sarma
Hyderabad: In a bold statement during a recent BJP campaign rally at Charminar, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that Hyderabad would undergo a name change to Bhagyanagar within 30 minutes of the BJP assuming power in Telangana. Sarma, known for his outspoken views, linked this proposal to the BJP's track record, drawing parallels with the construction of the Ram Mandir.

Addressing the gathering, Sarma reminisced, "Did anyone ever think that Ram Mandir would be constructed? Did Jawaharlal Nehru or Indira Gandhi dare to build? Because of BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is happening. When terrorist attacks were taking place in the country, then the Congress government was always on the back foot. But Modi has shown them with surgical strikes. Now, terror attacks have stopped."

Sarma expressed confidence that the renaming of Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar would not stir controversy. He asserted, "No one will raise a hue and cry if Hyderabad is renamed Bhagyanagar."

Taking a swipe at the Congress and AIMIM's stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict, Sarma suggested, "All these people (AIMIM) who are supporting Palestine should go there and fight for their cause." He criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for their silence on Hamas, contrasting it with Prime Minister Modi's condemnation of Hamas activities. Sarma emphasized that while Modi supports the creation of a Palestinian state, it cannot happen in collaboration with terrorist organizations like Hamas.

As political narratives intertwine with regional dynamics, Sarma's statements add a new layer to the ongoing political discourse in Telangana, setting the stage for potential shifts in the political landscape.
