SRINAGAR, 22 November 2023: In a recent joint operation by the Srinagar Police and the Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), a robust checkpoint was established near Sham Lal petrol pump, NR Colony at NHW bypass. The operation resulted in the apprehension of two terrorist associates, Mumtaz Ahmad Lone and Jahangir Ahmad Lone, who attempted to evade the police during a routine check.

The arrested individuals were in a car traveling from Parimpora to Tengpora when they tried to flee upon encountering the police presence. Subsequent inspection led to the discovery of a significant arsenal in their possession. The seized items included 2 pistols, 4 magazines, 2 filler magazines, and 8 grenades.
