ODISHA, JHARKHAND 7 December 2023: In a recent development, the Income Tax (I-T) Department has carried out extensive raids at Boudh Distilleries Private Limited in Odisha and Jharkhand. Substantial amounts of currency notes have been discovered on the premises associated with the company. The investigation is ongoing at locations in Bolangir, Sambalpur in Odisha, and Ranchi, Lohardaga in Jharkhand, according to officials.
As of now, the counting of notes has reached an impressive Rs 50 Crores. However, the sheer volume of notes has posed a challenge, causing the machines to halt their operations. Income Tax sources reveal that the counting process has been temporarily suspended due to the exceptionally high number of notes involved.
