Tragedy Turned Justice: Rail Police Arrest Three Culprits in Sugauli Train Mobile Snatching Case
In a significant breakthrough, the Railway Police have apprehended three individuals involved in the tragic mobile snatching incident that led to the unfortunate demise of student Saloni Maamle at the Sugauli Railway Station.

The incident occurred on December 17 when Saloni, a 23-year-old aspirant for the Daroga Bharti examination, was targeted by unidentified criminals who snatched her mobile while she was boarding a moving train. In a desperate attempt to retrieve her phone, Saloni slipped and fell, ultimately getting caught in the wheels of the train. The grievous accident resulted in the loss of her right leg and arm. Despite being rushed to the PMCH ICU, Saloni succumbed to her injuries on December 23.

Promptly responding to the tragic incident, the Sugauli Railway Police, under the supervision of Rail SP Dr. Kumar Ashish and Rail DSP, initiated a comprehensive investigation. As a result, three suspects were successfully apprehended in connection with the case. The arrested individuals include Ranjit Kumar Giri, son of Sajawal Giri from Parsa Purbariya Tola, Thana-Mazhaulia, District-West Champaran; Shaukat Ali alias Jhunna, son of Junaw Ali from Naya Tola Ward No. 06, Bangra Gumti, Sugauli; and Jabrej Alam, son of Najju Miyan.

In the course of the investigation, the police recovered the damaged Infinix mobile (number 8757392361) belonging to Saloni from the possession of the suspects, along with a total of 13 mobile phones seized during the arrests.

Facing charges related to the mobile snatching and causing harm, the accused are now subject to separate legal actions, with further investigations underway against them. The Rail Police are ensuring a meticulous inquiry to bring justice to Saloni's case, providing relief to her grieving family.
