Supreme Court Declines Stay on Shahi Idgah Survey, Allowing High Court Order to Prevail

Legal Battle Intensifies Over Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi
15 December, 23: In a recent development, the Supreme Court has declined to stay the Allahabad High Court's order dated December 14, which permitted the primary survey of the Shahi Idgah complex adjacent to the revered Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This decision allows for the continuation of the court-monitored survey by a three-member team of advocate commissioners.

Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer representing the Hindu side in this legal dispute, shared insights on the Supreme Court's decision. Jain stated, "Supreme Court has refused to stay the proceedings, and the Supreme Court has fixed the matter concerning the challenge to the transfer order on 9th of January. The High Court order will persist, and the high court will proceed with the matter, as there is no stay imposed by the Supreme Court."

This development marks a crucial chapter in the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the Shahi Idgah complex and its proximity to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple. The court-monitored survey is set to continue, guided by the Allahabad High Court's directive, while the Supreme Court has scheduled a further examination of the challenge to the transfer order on January 9th.

As the legal intricacies unfold, stakeholders and the public alike await the next steps in this significant case, which intertwines matters of faith, property rights, and the delicate balance between historical preservation and religious sentiments.
