Jaipur, December 5: In a shocking incident, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the state president of the National Rajput Karni Sena, was fatally shot on Tuesday in Jaipur. Unknown assailants entered his residence in the Shyam Nagar area and opened fire, leaving him with fatal gunshot wounds.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, providing details, mentioned that after being shot, Gogamedi was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Law enforcement swiftly reached the scene upon receiving information about the gunfire.
Sukhdev Singh was outside his home when the attackers, riding a scooter, approached him around 1:45 PM on Tuesday. A conversation ensued between Sukhdev and the assailants for about 10 minutes, after which the attackers fired multiple shots and fled the scene. Heavy police forces have been deployed outside Sukhdev Singh's residence.
Gogamedi, a prominent figure associated with the Rajput Karni Sena, received four gunshot wounds according to police reports. Expressing grief over his demise, BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat took to social media and wrote, "I am shocked by the news of the assassination of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the national president of Shri Rajput Karni Sena. In this regard, information has been obtained from the Police Commissioner, and efforts are underway for the swift arrest of the culprits."
He urged the public to maintain peace and patience during this challenging time. Vasundhara Raje, another BJP leader, also expressed her condolences, stating that it is an extremely unfortunate incident.
