Delhi - 27 January, 24: In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi's political landscape is marred by allegations as Minister Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accuses the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating 'Operation Lotus 2.0' with intentions to destabilize the democratically elected AAP government.
Minister Atishi, addressing the media, claimed, "BJP has initiated 'Operation Lotus 2.0,' attempting to overthrow the democratically elected AAP government in Delhi. Seven AAP MLAs have been approached by the BJP, informing them of an impending arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. This alleged move is followed by plans to create a rift among AAP MLAs. Currently, they are in contact with 21 of our MLAs, intending to use them to destabilize the Delhi government. Shockingly, these seven MLAs have allegedly been offered a tempting sum of Rs 25 crores each." Operation Lotus, historically associated with the BJP, refers to a tactic used to gain power in states where they haven't been democratically elected. Past instances in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh serve as examples, according to Atishi.
In response to these serious allegations, BJP leader Kapil Mishra dismissed the claims, asserting, "Arvind Kejriwal is once again resorting to falsehood, a pattern we've witnessed multiple times before. Not once has he provided details about the alleged contacts – no phone numbers, no meeting locations, and no identities. His constant evasion of ED summons is indicative of his lack of answers to the questions posed by the enforcement agency. Instead of addressing the issues, he chooses to make baseless statements and evade accountability."
The unfolding political drama between AAP and BJP intensifies, raising questions about the stability of the Delhi government and the nature of political maneuvering ahead. As the allegations and denials continue, the citizens of Delhi are left to navigate through a complex web of claims and counterclaims, eagerly awaiting clarity on the unfolding political saga.
