New Delhi, January 1, 2024: In a significant development, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, issued a notification on January 1, 2024, adding Satwinder Singh, also known as Satinderjit Singh or Goldy Brar, to the Fourth Schedule of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The move comes under the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 35 of the said Act, allowing the Central Government to add individuals associated with terrorism to the list.
Satwinder Singh, born on April 11, 1994, with a permanent address at House No. 970/2, Adesh Nagar, Street No. 3, Sri Muktsar Sahib City, Punjab, and currently residing in Brampton, Canada, has been linked to Babbar Khalsa International, a terrorist organization listed at serial number 1 of the First Schedule to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The notification highlights that Satwinder Singh, backed by a cross-border agency, has been involved in multiple killings and espouses radical ideologies. He has reportedly made threatening calls to pro-nationalist leaders, demanded ransom, and posted claims of killings on various social media platforms.
Furthermore, Satwinder Singh is accused of smuggling high-grade arms, ammunition, and explosive materials through drones from across the border. He is alleged to have supplied these materials for carrying out killings and providing support to sharpshooters. His associates are believed to be conspiring to disrupt peace, communal harmony, and law and order in the state of Punjab through activities including sabotage, raising of terror modules, targeted killings, and other anti-national activities.
Satwinder Singh has been subject to a Red Corner Notice (A-4588/6-2022) issued by INTERPOL Secretariat General (IPSG), Lyon, France. Additionally, a non-bailable warrant dated December 12, 2022, has been issued against him, and he is a subject of Look Out Circular No. 2245381 dated June 15, 2022.
The Central Government's decision to add Satwinder Singh to the Fourth Schedule underlines its belief that he is involved in terrorism. This move strengthens the government's resolve to combat individuals associated with unlawful activities and maintain national security.
