Maharashtra Police registers case against Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil.
Mumbai, 27 February, 24: The Maharashtra Police has initiated legal proceedings against Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following an incident of road blockade in Beed. Patil stands accused of instigating common people to block a road, leading to a significant traffic jam and inconvenience for commuters.
According to Nandakumar Thakur, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Beed, the case has been registered against Manoj Jarange Patil under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 143 (unlawful assembly), 145 (joining or continuing in unlawful assembly), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offense committed in prosecution of common object), and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC.
The incident occurred when Patil allegedly encouraged individuals to block a road in Beed, resulting in heavy traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public. In addition to the case against Patil, the police have also registered similar cases related to traffic jams at 25 other locations in Beed.
