Transparency Priority: BJP Pushes for Full Videography Coverage
New Delhi, 1 March, 24: In a bid to ensure transparency and fair elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has urged the Election Commission to implement videography at 100% of polling booths across the country. Led by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, a delegation from the BJP met with the poll panel to press for this demand. The BJP delegation emphasized the importance of videography in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and preventing any untoward incidents or malpractices during voting. By ensuring that every polling booth is under surveillance, the party aims to uphold the principles of free and fair elections.
Additionally, the BJP urged the Election Commission to take steps to set up polling booths in high-rise apartment complexes located in urban areas. This move is aimed at encouraging greater voter turnout in urban regions, where participation rates have historically been lower compared to rural areas.
The party believes that by leveraging videography and strategically locating polling booths, the Election Commission can enhance the electoral process and strengthen democracy. The delegation expressed confidence that these measures would contribute to a smoother and more inclusive voting experience for citizens across the country.
