Mumbai Police Conducts Late-Night Operation, Seizes Cash and Hookah Pots
Mumbai, 27 March, 24: In a late-night operation conducted by the Mumbai Police, Big Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui along with 13 others were detained during a raid at a hookah bar in the Fort area. The police have registered a case against the detainees, who were subsequently released after questioning.

The raid, which commenced around 10:30 pm on Tuesday and extended into the early hours of Wednesday, targeted an alleged illegal hookah parlour in Mumbai's bustling Fort area. During the operation, law enforcement authorities seized ₹4,400 in cash and confiscated nine hookah pots valued at ₹13,500.

According to police officials, the hookah bar was operating without proper authorization, prompting the enforcement action under relevant sections of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities conducting a thorough search of the premises.

Munawar Faruqui, a 32-year-old reality TV star and well-known stand-up comedian and rapper on YouTube, was among those detained in the raid. Faruqui gained prominence in the entertainment industry in recent years, captivating audiences with his comedic talent and musical performances.

This isn't the first time Faruqui has found himself in the midst of controversy. In 2021, he made headlines after spending a month in jail following complaints filed against him for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during one of his stand-up shows. Despite the challenges, Faruqui continues to navigate the complexities of fame and public scrutiny in his pursuit of creative expression.
