Acharya Pramod Krishnam Clarifies Viral Video on Removing Reservation: 'A Year Old and Incomplete'

Supriya Shrinate's Social Media Share Sparks Controversy
A video circulating on social media, shared by Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate, has sparked controversy. In the video, she alleges that certain BJP leaders are promoting caste-based discrimination and threatening Brahmins.

The video features Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who appears to be addressing a gathering and expressing concerns about caste-based discrimination. He mentions that certain leaders are labeling them as 'naslavadis' (casteists) and threatening Brahmins. Krishnam advocates for the elimination of caste discrimination and emphasizes the need for a proposal in the next 'Mahakumbh' to abolish caste-based reservations in India.

Following the circulation of this video, the fact-checking process was initiated. Upon investigation, it was found that the video was from a previous event. In the clip, Krishnam was inviting PM Narendra Modi for the foundation-laying ceremony of the 'Shri Kalki Dham' on February 2, 2024.

Krishnam's association with the Congress party ended on February 11, 2024, after which he criticized the party for not including him in the Ayodhya Ram temple's consecration ceremony. Although Krishnam has not officially joined the BJP, he is now considered a supporter of the party.

Addressing the viral video, Acharya Pramod Krishnam clarified, "My speech is a year old, given on September 24, 2023, when I was with the Congress. Today, I am with PM Modi... I am against casteism and discrimination... Congress will gain nothing from the false propaganda and conspiracy they are spreading."

The clarification sheds light on the context of the video and Krishnam's stance on the issue, highlighting the importance of verifying information before drawing conclusions. As the political landscape continues to evolve, such incidents underscore the significance of responsible sharing and fact-checking in the digital age.
