Addressing questions regarding his sudden shift in allegiance, Singh attributed his decision to a change of heart overnight. "I slept after reposting and when I woke up I thought of doing the right thing and joined BJP," Singh remarked in response to a reporter's inquiry about his abrupt change in stance.
A video capturing Vijender Singh's explanation for his switch to the BJP swiftly went viral on social media platforms. The boxer's clarification was captured during an interview with News 24, adding fuel to the already buzzing conversation surrounding his political affiliation.

"Our sportspersons are now being recognized worldwide. Earlier, when we used to go abroad for events, we faced problems. But under PM Modi, things have changed. I want to thank PM Modi.
