MEGHALAYA, JUNE 3 2024- In a significant stride towards global employment opportunities, twenty-seven nurses from Meghalaya are poised to kickstart their careers in Japan following intensive Japanese language training.
Under the auspices of the "Skills Meghalaya" scheme, initiated by the Meghalaya Government through the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), each candidate receives financial backing of Rs 50,000. This substantial support aims to facilitate the training and deployment of three hundred nurses in the forthcoming years.
The selection process for these nurses unfolded during an Overseas Nursing Job Fair conducted in August 2023, garnering an enthusiastic response with over one thousand registrations statewide. This initiative underscores a concerted effort to not only create employment opportunities but also to bolster the professional acumen of nurses.
Four reputable firms, including NAVIS, have been designated as sending organizations, entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing language training and job placements. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked with these firms on December 7, 2023, paves the way for seamless facilitation of employment avenues in countries like Japan, the UK, Singapore, and the UAE.
This endeavor signifies a symbiotic partnership between governmental initiatives and private enterprises, ultimately equipping Meghalaya's nurses with the linguistic and professional proficiencies required to excel on the global stage.
