Canadian MP Chandra Arya Condemns Vandalism of Hindu Temple and Khalistani Extremist Rhetoric

Khalistani Terrorist's Threat: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Tells MP Chandra Arya to Leave the Country
Ottawa, July 24, 2024 – Chandra Arya, a Member of Parliament from Canada, took to social media platform X to condemn the repeated vandalism of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton. Arya highlighted the ongoing issue of Hindu temples in Canada being targeted with hateful graffiti, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area and British Columbia.

Escalating Hate Crimes

Arya expressed deep concern over the recent rise in hate crimes against Hindu-Canadian communities. He pointed out that last year, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of Sikhs for Justice publicly called for Hindus to return to India. Khalistan supporters have also openly celebrated the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Brampton and Vancouver, brandishing images of deadly weapons during these events.

Khalistani Terrorist's Threat

In a video, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun told Canadian Hindu MP Chandra Arya to leave the country. Arya responded by reiterating his condemnation of the vandalism and other acts of hate.

Calls for Law Enforcement Action

In his post, Arya stated, "As I have always been saying, Khalistani extremists seem to get away with ease with their public rhetoric of hate and violence. Again, let me put on record, Hindu-Canadians are legitimately concerned." He called on Canadian law enforcement agencies to take the issue seriously before these hateful rhetorics translate into physical actions against Hindu-Canadians.

Response to Threats

Following Arya's condemnation of the temple vandalism and other acts of hate, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video demanding Arya and his Hindu-Canadian friends to leave Canada. Arya responded with another post, emphasizing the contributions of Hindu-Canadians to the country's development.

"Hindus have come to our wonderful country Canada from all parts of the world. From every country in South Asia, many countries in Africa and the Caribbean, and many other parts of the world, we have come here, and Canada is our land," Arya stated. He highlighted the positive impact of the Hindu community on Canada's socio-economic development and the enrichment of its multicultural fabric.

Defending Freedoms

Arya concluded by addressing the misuse of freedoms by extremists. "Our land is being polluted by Khalistani extremists abusing our freedoms guaranteed by our Canadian Charter of Rights," he said, urging for a collective stand against such divisive forces to maintain peace and unity in Canada.
