Unidentified Mob Attacks Train; Railway Police Launches Investigation

Jalgaon, Maharashtra – Tensions soared in Jalgaon district after an unidentified group of miscreants hurled stones at the Bhusaval-Nandurbar passenger train, causing panic among passengers. Eyewitness reports indicate that the mob gathered on the railway tracks, initiating the attack and prompting widespread fear.

A video capturing the incident has gone viral on social media. Shared by @Mumbaikhabar9 on X (formerly Twitter), the post reads, "Watch this video shot by a passenger of a train between Jalgaon & Nandurbar, which was targeted by a stone-throwing mob yesterday at 2.30 pm. This follows riots that erupted in Sakri & adjoining towns bordering Dhule in Maharashtra. Clip courtesy- Subhash Gupta." The footage shows approximately 25 individuals gathered at the tracks, some of whom were actively throwing stones at the train. Passengers are seen attempting to vacate the train in fear.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, Railway Police promptly registered a case and initiated an investigation. The identities and motives of the attackers remain unknown at this time. Authorities are also investigating whether any riots followed the stone-pelting incident.

This event has raised serious concerns about passenger safety, especially in light of multiple similar incidents across India. In April 2024, a stone-pelting incident was reported on a MEMU train traveling from Gwalior to Jaura as it reached Birla Nagar station in Gwalior. Additionally, similar attacks have been reported on the Vande Bharat Express and Shatabdi Express near Gwalior-Morena.

The Railway Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that might aid in identifying the culprits, emphasizing the importance of passenger safety and security on India's railway network.
