Varanasi: During a BJP membership drive in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of national unity and criticized opposition parties for their alleged divisive tactics. Addressing party workers and new members, Adityanath underscored the BJP’s commitment to putting the country first, contrasting it with what he described as the self-serving politics of the opposition.
Call for National Unity
In his speech, Adityanath declared that "no caste, no class, no religion, no section, or language can be bigger than the country," urging everyone to prioritize the nation above all else. "We all have to work together to overcome the challenges facing the unity and integrity of the nation," he emphasized, highlighting the BJP’s focus on national solidarity and development.
Criticism of the Opposition
Adityanath sharply criticized the Samajwadi Party and Congress, accusing them of hypocrisy and political opportunism. "Those who destroyed the social fabric are again misleading the country by wearing masks today," he stated. He accused these parties of pretending to honor figures dedicated to social justice merely to garner votes. "Those who used to insult great men dedicated to social justice are performing their 'Arti' for votes," Adityanath remarked, pointing out what he sees as a pattern of insincerity and opportunism in their political strategies.
Accusations of Self-Serving Politics
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party of undermining the nation’s interests whenever they had the opportunity. "Be it Congress or Samajwadi Party, whenever they got a chance, they did politics at the cost of the country," Adityanath claimed. He contrasted this with the BJP’s approach, stating, "This is the difference: they do politics at the cost of the country, and we do politics for the country."
Focus on BJP's Vision
Adityanath’s remarks aimed to bolster support for the BJP by framing the party as the only true protector of national interests, while portraying the opposition as driven by self-interest and divisive agendas. His speech in Varanasi was part of a broader effort by the BJP to expand its membership base and consolidate support ahead of upcoming elections.
By reiterating the party’s commitment to unity and criticizing the opposition’s tactics, Yogi Adityanath sought to galvanize BJP workers and new members, encouraging them to continue working towards the party’s vision of a unified and prosperous India.
