Protests Erupt in Bangladesh After ISKCON Leader's Arrest at Dhaka Airport

Dhaka: Tensions have escalated in Bangladesh after the arrest of ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, also known as Krishna Das Prabhu, at Dhaka airport. His detention has sparked widespread protests among the Hindu community and raised concerns about the safety and rights of religious minorities in the country.

Krishna Das Prabhu had recently led rallies condemning alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. His arrest is seen by many as a move to silence voices advocating for minority rights. Supporters of the Hindu leader have demanded his immediate release, warning of intensified protests if their calls are ignored.

The situation has garnered international attention, with critics highlighting the lack of action against ongoing discrimination and violence targeting Hindus in Bangladesh. Opposition leaders in India, such as Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, have also voiced their concerns. "If the voice of the Hindu minority, Chinmoy Prabhu, isn't released, we will take our protests to the Indo-Bangladesh border," Adhikari stated.

The incident has further strained relations between Hindu activists and authorities in Bangladesh. Protesters are demanding swift action to address alleged human rights violations and ensure the safety of religious minorities.

The situation remains volatile, with demonstrators vowing to continue their agitation until Krishna Das Prabhu is freed. The developments are being closely monitored by human rights organizations and political observers.
