Maharashtra Cabinet Expanded: Key Portfolios Allocated in Nagpur Swearing-In Ceremony

Mahayuti Ministers Sworn In: 19 BJP, 11 Shiv Sena, and 9 NCP MLAs inducted into the cabinet.
Nagpur, Maharashtra – The Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) government in Maharashtra marked a significant day with the swearing-in of 39 ministers in a grand ceremony held in Nagpur. The event witnessed spirited slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" raised by several Mahayuti MLAs after taking their oaths. The expansion highlights the political balance struck between the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP factions within the coalition.  

Cabinet Composition 
The swearing-in ceremony saw the induction of:  
19 BJP MLAs 
11 Shiv Sena MLAs
9 NCP MLAs

Additionally, the coalition now includes one Muslim minister from the NCP, reflecting an effort to ensure inclusivity.  

Portfolios Distribution
The allocation of portfolios has been finalized, with prominent leaders taking charge of key ministries:  
Devendra Fadnavis (BJP): Home Ministry  
Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena): Urban Development and Housing  
Ajit Pawar (NCP): Finance Ministry  

The Shiv Sena has secured a range of important departments, including Housing, Tourism, Health, School Education, Public Works (excluding undertakings), Water Supply, Water Conservation, Marathi Language, Mining, and Ex-Servicemen Welfare.  

Dynamic Leadership Changes Ahead
In a strategic move, Shiv Sena and NCP have announced plans to evaluate ministerial performance over the next 2.5 years. Non-performing ministers will be replaced to bring in new leadership, aiming for greater efficiency and public satisfaction.  

Key Inductions
Nitesh Rane (BJP): The firebrand leader and son of Narayan Rane, was sworn in as a minister.  
Pankaja Munde and Dhananjay Munde: Both prominent leaders from the Munde family, took their oaths during the ceremony, signaling a balance of political and regional representation.  

Coalition’s Vision for Maharashtra
The Mahayuti government has emphasized its focus on urban development, financial stability, and public welfare. Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde aims to modernize Maharashtra's cities, while Ajit Pawar's control of the Finance Ministry is expected to bolster economic reforms.
