Mumbai Police Receives Death Threat Against PM Modi; ISI Agents and Bomb Plot Mentioned

ISI Agents Linked to Bomb Plot Against PM Modi, Claims Threat Message
Mumbai, December 7, 2024:The Mumbai Police received a serious threat message on Saturday targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The message, sent via WhatsApp to the traffic police helpline, referenced a plot involving two ISI agents and a bomb attack. This incident comes less than two weeks after an anonymous call threatening the Prime Minister's life was received.

Threat Against PM Modi
The threatening message was traced to a phone number registered in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Authorities are actively pursuing the sender, who is suspected to be either mentally unstable or under the influence of alcohol. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Mumbai Police officials are not taking the matter lightly, especially as it follows a similar threat made last week. In that instance, the police detained a 34-year-old woman who allegedly made the call out of frustration with the administration. She had claimed that a weapon was prepared for the attack on the Prime Minister.

Salman Khan Faces Renewed Threats
In a separate incident, Mumbai Police also received WhatsApp messages threatening Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The message demanded the actor visit a Bishnoi community temple in Rajasthan to apologise or pay ₹5 crore, warning that failure to comply would result in his assassination.

The threat referenced the Bishnoi gang, which has previously been linked to actor-related controversies. Earlier this week, a man entered the set of Salman Khan's latest film and threatened his bodyguard while invoking the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Police investigations revealed a personal dispute between the accused and the bodyguard.

Recurring Threats Raise Alarms
Mumbai Police has been dealing with multiple hoax and genuine threats recently. Security agencies remain on high alert, taking every potential danger seriously to ensure public safety.

While investigators suspect a mix of personal grievances and mental instability behind some threats, the repeated targeting of prominent figures like Prime Minister Modi and Salman Khan underlines the need for stricter monitoring and preventive measures.

Authorities are working with intelligence agencies to trace the origins of these messages and identify any credible threats to national security and public figures.
